Cisco Talent Bridge: Privacy Statement
Scope and Purpose of Processing.
a. This Statement applies to the Cisco Talent Bridge Platform (the “Site”). The Site is designed as a professional networking and talent discovery tool to connect certified individuals with the Talent Seeker ecosystem.
b. Primary Purpose: We process your personal data to create a searchable professional profile and to store your resume specifically for discovery by authorized third parties (“Talent Seekers”).
c. Exclusion of Internal Recruitment: This Site is not used for Cisco’s internal recruitment or hiring processes. Uploading your data here does not constitute an application for employment at Cisco.
d. This Statement does not cover your use of Cisco’s products or services (for more information, please refer to Cisco’s Online Privacy Statement as well as any applicable information related your use of specific Cisco products or services). This Statement is a supplement to Cisco’s Online Privacy Statement and any subject matter not covered in this Statement shall be governed by the Cisco’s Online Privacy Statement.
2. PERSONAL DATA COLLECTED. We may collect the following personal data:
Contact information: such as your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and other similar contact data. |
Educational information: such as your education history, qualifications, and certifications. |
Employment information: this includes your resume, Curriculum Vitae, employment history, professional background, visa or information relating to legal work rights in the applicable location and work and personal references. |
Other information: Any other information you voluntarily submit to us in connection with your application, including information you provide through the Site. |
3. HOW AND WHY WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA. The following describes the legal grounds for processing your personal data and the associated purposes:
a. Allow you to create a searchable professional profile and to store your resume and related information specifically for discovery by Talent Seekers
b. Matching you to relevant role postings of Talent Seekers and will be able to search and apply for roles posted by Talent Seekers on the platform
c. Allow you to search and apply for roles posted by Talent Seekers on the platform.
4. Your Privacy Rights.
a. Subject to applicable laws, you may have certain privacy rights regarding your data. These may include the right to request access, correction, suspension of processing and deletion. You can make such request by completing the online Privacy Request form.
b. By submitting your personal data through this Site, you acknowledge and agree that your personal data may be processed by the Talent Seekers. Once your personal data is processed by these Talent Seekers, it will be subject to their respective privacy notices and policies. To exercise your privacy rights related to your data processed by these Talent Seekers, you will need to contact them directly.
5. PROTECTION OF YOUR DATA. We have implemented reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data from accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, disclosure, or access. We utilize an appropriate information risk management process to frame, assess, respond, and monitor risks and developments.
6. Talent Seeker Searchability and Data Disclosure. By opting into the Site, you acknowledge that your professional information will be shared within the Talent Seeker ecosystem:
a. Searchable Database: Your name, contact information, Credly Badges, and uploaded resume will be made available to Talent Seekers who use the Site to identify candidates for their own independent business needs.
b. Independent Controllers: Once a Talent Seekers accesses your personal data, they act as an independent data controller. Their subsequent use of your data is governed by their own privacy policies and recruitment practices.
7. Data Management. To maintain a persistent profile that allows you to be found for multiple opportunities, we require your explicit consent:
a. Affirmative Opt-In: You must provide clear consent via the Site’s registration interface to have your resume stored in our searchable database so that Talent Seekers may access it.
b. User Control: You retain the right to remove your resume, hide your profile from search results, or delete your account at any time. Removing your data from the Site will prevent future Talent Seekers from finding you but will not remove your data from Talent Seekers who have already downloaded it.
8. Data Retention and Compliance. As the Site host, Cisco maintains data based on your account activity:
a. Profile Retention: Your data is retained as long as your account remains active. If your account remains inactive for a period of two (2) years, Cisco reserves the right to purge the data.
b. Regulatory Record-Keeping: While Cisco is not the hiring entity for these roles, we maintain platform logs and transaction history as required by applicable law and our internal data governance standards to ensure the security and integrity of the talent marketplace.
c. We will retain your personal data as needed to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected.
d. We will retain and use your personal data as necessary to comply with our business requirements, meet our legal obligations, resolve disputes, protect our assets, and enforce our rights.
e. We will not retain personal data in identifiable form when the purpose(s) for which the personal data was collected have been achieved and there is no legal or business need to retain such identifiable personal data. Thereafter, the data will be destroyed, deleted, anonymized, and/or removed from our systems.
9. Additional Privacy and Security Measures.
a. Data Security: Cisco implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
b. Your Privacy Rights: Subject to applicable laws, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. You can exercise these rights by contacting the Site support team or submitting a privacy request.
10. TRANSFERS OF PERSONAL DATA.
a. We are headquartered in the United States, therefore, in connection with our business and for employment, administrative, management and legal purposes we may transfer, and process your personal data outside of your country of residence.
b. Cisco shall transfer your personal data outside of your country in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
c. Cisco’s global privacy program and policies have been approved by the Dutch, Polish, Spanish, and other relevant European data protection regulators as providing additional safeguards for the protection of privacy, fundamental rights, and freedoms of individuals for transfers of personal data protected under European law. Cisco’s Binding Corporate Rules -- Controller (BCR-C) -- provide that international transfers made by Cisco as a controller worldwide of European personal data benefit from additional safeguards. 11. Data Sharing and Third-Party Use.
a. Cisco shares your personal data only with authorized Talent Seekers for their recruitment purposes.
b. Talent Seekers act as independent data controllers once they receive your data and are responsible for their own privacy practices.
12. Use of Artificial Intelligence.
a. Cisco may use Artificial Intelligence technologies (“AI Tools”) to process personal data and support the Talent Seeker Ecosystem. Our Responsible AI Framework governs the development, deployment, and use of AI Tools. We apply risk management practices to evaluate AI Tools for fairness and to manage risk. AI Tools are used in compliance with applicable AI, employment, data protection, and privacy laws. If using AI Tools provided by third parties, we conduct due diligence and seek appropriate assurances the tool meets Cisco standards before implementation.
b. AI Tools may review the details and data you or Cisco Talent Seekers provide—such as skills, experience, location, and education—the improve the experience for you as well as the Cisco Talent Seekers. AI Tools are intended to guide and support the Talent Seeker Ecosystem by identifying and prioritizing relevant opportunities but are not designed to be used in isolation or without human involvement. In addition to insights from AI Tools, you and Talent Seeker should consider a wide range of inputs, including screening conversations and interviews, when making decisions.
13. CHANGES TO THIS STATEMENT AND QUESTIONS. We may amend this statement at any time. The most current version of this Statement will govern our use of your information and will always be posted at this location.
